Speed Date: One Moment by Kristina McBride

The Deal: Maggie remembers talking to Joey, and remembers the tension between him, Shannon and Adam that last day on the creek. But she doesn't remember when he jumped, she just remembers after, when Joey was already dead. Even though she was there, a top of the rock with him just before he jumped.

Maggie has suppressed the memories of that moment, and now she's trying to piece together what happened that day, and the days before that lead them all to Joey's death.

Slowly, Maggie starts to realize Joey kept many secrets, that their relationship wasn't perfect, nor was the friendship they shared with Shannon, Adam, Tanna and Pete. And what exactly was that fight about? the one Adam and Joey got into the night before Joey died?

My Thoughts: I'm not entirely sure how I feel about One Moment, or if it works or not. I guess that because I felt a big disconnection to both the characters and the plot, but I can't figure out why.

The story was a bit predictable but well written over all, just kind of slow at times. I do think other people might like it more if they connect more easily with the characters.

This book will be out on June 26th, 2012
